AdGuard CLI version

1.1.44

Browser version

Vivaldi

OS version

Manjaro KDE Plasma 6.3.6, Kernel 6.16.8-1-Manjaro

Issue Details

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Set AdGuard CLI proxy_mode to auto.
  2. Ensure no VPN is active.
  3. Start Adguard CLI in a terminal using adguard-cli start
  4. Adguard CLI starts successfully.
  5. Applications lose internet connection.

Expected Behavior

  1. Set AdGuard CLI proxy_mode to auto.
  2. Start Adguard CLI in a terminal using adguard-cli start, or start it automatically using a service.
  3. Adguard CLI starts successfully.
  4. Almost everything will use Adguard CLI and have an internet connection.

Actual Behavior

Almost anything that needs an internet connection loses its connection, including AdGuard CLI; after a few minutes, a few websites, such as Google and YouTube, work, though they are somewhat slow.

Additional Information

I have an OpenVPN tunnel with route-nopull, since I only use it for specific things and don't need everything to use it.

It seems that AdGuard was tunneling everything without exception, including the VPN, which caused a few odd issues, the biggest of which was making AdGuard work, as when I stop the VPN, almost everything loses its connection.

The other issues are:

  1. That almost anything that goes through the VPN will not use it (e.g. wget will not use the VPN if I bind its address to it using --bind-address).
  2. If something did use the VPN, it won't get the response back (e.g. curl will get stuck waiting for a response if I use --interface to set the interface to the VPN)
  3. Rarely, some software will randomly use the VPN even when it shouldn't (it seems to be for a very short period of time, a few minutes at most).

After I noticed these, I disabled the VPN, which caused AdGuard to act weirdly under auto (Actual Behavior^)
