🚀 Upcoming Kickstarter to fund full SOFA–UE5 Plugin (launch Tuesday 2025-11-18)

Hi all,

This repository currently hosts our SOFA–UE5 proof of concept, which validated the key parts of the integration (scene loading, soft-body updates, UE5 rendering, etc.).
Thanks to the community for the feedback and tests so far!

We’re now ready to move beyond the PoC and develop a complete open-source plugin for Unreal Engine 5, with:

• Improving the UE5 components & Blueprints describing SOFA scenes
• Optimizing SOFA Data transfer
• Better VisualModel rendering with UE5 materials
• Robotics & medical simulation features
• VR & haptics support
• Example scenes (to be defined during roadmap: surgical, robotics, soft-body demos)
  - And above all: Full documentation and tutorials

To fund this work and keep it open-source, we’re launching a Kickstarter campaign on Tuesday.
