SofaUnity: Unity closes as soon as an example scene is opened

Hello,

I have installed SOFA-Unity3D according to https://infinytech3d.com/getting-started/ with the unity package SofaUnity_v24.12.00_core_withDLL.
When I proceed to check the installation by opening an example scene Unity just closes (no errors, warnings, etc.) and takes me back to UnityHub.

I also tried closing UnityHub, opening my project and reloading an example scene, again same outcome.

I am using the following versions;

• UnityHub 3.11.1
• Unity Editor Version 2021.3.38f1
• Unity package SofaUnity_v24.12.00_core_withDLL

Any idea why this is happening or what I can do to fix this issue?

Do you already have a version of SOFA installed on your computer?

ok so the install of SOFA might be the issue. Which version is installed on your computer?
I guess the bin/Release folder is in the environment path of your system and conflict with the dll of the library that are embedded inside the SofaUnity package.

I have the SOFA version v24.06.00 installed

Ok could you try to remove the SOFA_ROOT or SOFA_BIN, I don't remember the exact name, environment variable. Restart your computer and try to run the SofaUnity project?
Or just temporally empty the Sofa_v24.06/bin/Release/ folder so you don't have dll missmatch between the 24.12 in Unity and the 24.06 on your computer

Out of curiosity I tried SofaUnity_v24.06.00_core_withDLL, since version in Unity and the one installed on the computer are then the same, it should work. Unfortunately, I still have the same issue.
