When my mesh is dense enough, the situation in the following picture will occur. It can be seen that the eliminated area around is very large, instead of being closely attached to the collision sphere. |

Hi, could you answer this thread: #169 You might need to change the collision distance in the collision pipeline components such as LocalMinDistance. |

I used the Demo_03_CubeCarving example in SofaUnity, located at SofaUnity/Scenes/Demos/Interaction/Demo_03_CubeCarving. Everything works well for me, and I can replace the sphere with my preferred model. However, the issue is that I want element carving and collisions to be more precise—currently, the radius is too large. To address this, I tried modifying the corresponding SCN file, CubeCarving.
I found the line and reduced the carvingDistance to make the distance threshold fit the model more closely, but this parameter adjustment had no effect. I also found and tried decreasing the radius to make the collision sphere smaller for more precise collisions, yet this also had no impact.
I can’t find any other parameters to adjust, and changing settings in Unity didn’t help either. My goal is to make collisions smaller and more precise—this should be achievable by making the sphere small enough and the distance threshold tight enough. But I’m now confused and unsure which parameters to modify, even though I’m sure my mesh is dense enough. Can you help me figure out which parameters to adjust?
