Getting Track Information Example

It'd be great to see an example of what it takes to get the track information, especially given I don't have access to a Denon controller to test. The example would be useful just to see what kind of work is necessary and available from a 3rd party perspective. Thanks!

A core problem I see is that PyStageLinQ expects to own the asyncio loop with callers only being able to process inside the callback. For large projects, that might be problematic if there is already an asyncio loop. That said, it may be desirable to move PyStageLinQ to a separate process anyway due to the GIL.

I'm also not sure how the core loop ever ends short of an exception being thrown? How is cleanup expected to be done on exit?

I did consider this at one point, but I never figured out a good way to solve this, as PyStageLinQ needs to spawn a bunch of ijobs internally. But If you are already in a asyncio context you can try to start PyStageLinQ with PyStageLinQ._start_StageLinQ instead of PyStageLinq.start. The only thing the "start" method does is asyncio.run(self._start_StageLinQ()), so I think this could be a possible solution.

Once again I tried to figure this out and failed. What I ended up doing was to use the del method to clean up as good as possible when the class is killed. Looking at the code again I see that I don't kill off the subprocesses cleanly, so I'll have to take a look at it to see whats going on. If you have any better idea of how to solve it I'm all ears

Give me some time to change my app (https://github.com/whatsnowplaying/whats-now-playing) to take asyncio source inputs (a project that has been on the backburner for a while now) and I'll probably have some more concrete ideas. haha. Thanks.

Sorry for not getting back to you, I've been really busy at work. Anyway tell me if you find anything that needs fixing or if I've done any other thing not so extensible

I got distracted as well. Sorry. 😄 But what I started to do was pretty much do a wholesale replacement of PyStageLinQ.py. Everything gets create_task'd and a threading.Event (to be thread safe) gets used to break out of the core loop instead of using an Exception. stop() gets added as a new public method which would then set the Event to gracefully shutdown. With those primitives in place, control goes back to the caller instead of being locked up inside PyStageLinQ.
