I read here that W11 is now detecting it as a virus ,ok I get it.
So it's not detecting my CPU fan and its blasting my CPU fan at a constant 100% and it's SO LOUD . W11 keeps quarantining it then deleting it and I can't or know how to fix this . It labeled as severe ,just give me a link with a walk thru to fix this jet sound . Thanks .

You can sort of fix this, but doing so is at your own risk. If you trust the file, you can add it to a the exclusions list under windows defender.
Windows Security -> Virus & Threat Protection -> Virus & Threat Protection Settings ( Manage Settings) -> Exclusions (Add or remove exclusions) -> Add an exclusion.

This is not a sensible option, but it will get FanControl working and it will stop your system overheating. But when a new version is released that does not trigger Defender you should undo this.

This fixed it! You're a lifesaver. I added the FanControl folder, I don't think adding it as a process was enough,

If you follow his directions, when you click "Add an exclusion" you will get a choice of File/Folder/Filetype/Process.

Adding an exclusion doesn't fix it for me. It works fine at first when you set it up even without the exclusion but if you try recalibrating/assisted setup all hell goes loose and it just defaults to it sucking regardless of the exclusion. Going to try a completely fresh install(after already wasting time calibrating and naming the fans, which is great).

Also it's kind of annoying that you have to close the app through the tray after you closed the window. Didn't really have complaints even with minor nitpicks before because it just worked but yea. Glad it's free at least.
