Description
Some (i think most) wayland compositors work with requesting exclusive zones (windows dodging status bars, etc.), and that'd be a great feature to have. With how i use wofi, i have it overlapping my status bar at the top of my screen when opening, and i've had experience with using kitten panel from kitty terminal emulator, and i could specify to request or not exclusive zone. When i did, the panel would be at the top of my screen and my status panel (not kitten panel) would go under it, but i can't reproduce the same behavior with wofi.
Snippet from kitty documentation:
--exclusive-zone <EXCLUSIVE_ZONE>
On a Wayland compositor that supports the wlr layer shell protocol, request a given exclusive zone for the panel. Please refer to the wlr layer shell documentation for more details on the meaning of exclusive and its value.
To clarify, i used kitten panel as an app launcher, so it wasn't a status panel.
