RAUC compatibility “raspberrypi4” not parsed correctly

Hi! I wanted to ask whether it is intended that the compatibility text is split like that "r - aspberrypi4" (My set compatibility was raspberrypi4 and raspberrypi4 during build). I also noticed that the devices are not getting the updates i uploaded, which could be explained by the compatibility section there.

Ah so that is more my issue/problem that I chose "raspberrypi4" for both revision and model or that's an unforeseen 'bug'?

It should work if you’d chose raspberrypi4-default. However, your use case should be supported too. This should be fixable by improving the regular expression.

The most flexible way would be to make the pattern configurable. I’ll see if I find the time to look into that. In the meantime you perhaps could use raspberrypi-4 as compatibility string.

@easybe Hi! I have tested this further and found out that strings like "Galaxy S9" or similar models that are simply separated by a space will be split into a model "Galaxy" and revision "S9", however S9 is not really a revision but still part of the model. Do i use other types of spaces for those cases or is this an unintentional problem?

Similar problem, how to best encode a revision number into the string? We could remove support for spaces as separators if that is better.

Again, maybe we need to make the pattern configurable after all 🤷‍♂️

I will try out a few ways to avoid problems like these, it really is tricky to make it simple and effective.
