I'm no expert by all means, but the contrast is easier on the eyes in this one. And the installation part looks better, more compact. |

I think you did a great job. It is a good upgrade from previous versions. PS: I miss anchors to these sections on header:

In "More Information" section of https://vscodium-next.netlify.app/ Typo? I think "or" should be "and" |

It is not bad, just fix the accessibility issues, eg, the buttons' color contrast is too low, white text needs a darker background for the buttons, keep all the links the same color, don't use orange over white or light colors over white. Some of the white space looks off, there is to much space between sections that makes them look orphaned. The grey tone is also to low on contrast is almost the same tone as the white background and making the text hard to read. I think you are trying to use the sky blue color of the logo, instead use the darker blue on it or a similar darker blue for the text, but the links should not be the same color as the blue text. That is just some quick review that I could tell |

I prefer the immediate icon and "VSCodium" text of the original above-the-fold; it's like "boom you know where you are" whereas the new version looks kind of generic. I'm a fan of serif fonts, but no one seems to like them on the web. Whoever donated a Mac Mini M1 has a broken logo. "Why Does This Exist" is a little philosophical, and it seems unnecessary and redundant when the question is immediately answered. Maybe something like "All the power of VS Code. None of the privacy concerns." or "Powerful Coding. In Private." Installation section is a massive improvement, love it. Two tiny things: "Install" instead of "Installation" is more of a call-to-action, and OS icons would be nice to see. The top toolbar is amazing, no notes. Overall though, regardless of my own feedback, it's a huge improvement from the original site. |

Definitely looks more modern and easier on eyes with dark mode. I think you could add a sidepanel with links to sections (like there are on top bar on current website). |

the "Installation" section could use the user's user agent to select the correct OS by default. i'm on windows and it defaults to linux for me: |

I'm not a web developer, but this looks quite nice. It's snappy, while having a more modern look and feel. May I ask what technologies were used? |

It looks better than the previous one, but I find the Inter font overused, I suggest Roboto, Source Sans Pro, Geist, Overpass, Lato, FreeSans (Helvetica carbon copy) or anything. Also the "MIT License" text looks too statistics-like, as does the New text. |

Would be great if dark mode didn’t require an expedition through a menu. Rather not go blind before I turn it on. Other than that website really got an upgrade! |

Nice site. I have albinism, so also photophobia, so am very sensitive to bright themes and contrast issues -- your new beta site is very easy on my eyes, thank you! Good work. |

To add to the "Looks Great" chorus above and like many of the others I'm not really a developer. Thanks for the work on the new site. |

Looks pretty good. Make sure for NixOS installation section it's: environment.systemPackages = [
pkgs.vscodium
];or for temporary installation (if needed): $ nix-shell -p vscodium

Personally, I liked the simplicity of the old website, but - eh - I only use the website when forced to use some lame normie OS like Windows. On Linux you just install thru the package manager as one should. |

I think it can be designed more beautifully and better. The website of such a large project should be designed so beautifully that it is more beautiful than the official vscode website. |

All I'd like is for the Inter font to disappear, not everything needs to use it. |

Something about the "try insiders" button disappearing so suddenly feels off. The re-centering is abrupt to me.

the title "Replacements" here is broken for some reason:
not sure what could be causing it because i checked the markdown file for this page and it looks fine |

Very nice look-and-feel. One major thing I would add, between "Why Does This Exist" and "More Information", is a section about "Compatibility", or something to that effect. When I tell people about Codium as an alternative to VS Code, I have to explain that there is almost no difference at all between the two, other than the fact that it removes the M$ customizations. Their (and mine) major concern is about extensions, key-mappings, security, and so on. I know that the "Why Does This Exist" section explains about the customizations, but new users want the reassurance of knowing that the experience will be identical, if not better because the cognitive load of feeling like you are under surveillance is gone. I am pretty sure that the bulk of people coming to Codium have arrived here because they are using VS Code but are still not really sure that they are going to have the same, if not better, experience. |
