When writing a new post or page I want to create images that fit my content so I can have a featured image to grab attention, as well as visuals along my content to break up the writing and help readers better grasp my idea. Bringing image generation to WordPress would be a power feature. I could see folks doing it as they're writing content, right within the Block Editor, as well as in the Media Library. Finding stock images can be hard and expensive, but folks know imagery is such a powerful tool, so I think this is a compelling thing to have. |

As we build out the various packages that culminate in the Abilities API in Core and the AI Experiments plugin, ultimately leading to a canonical AI plugin, it is important that we have clear and concrete ideas of what we plan to create with this.
I specifically mean user-facing ideas, such as adding a way for users to create images from AI within the Media Library. As opposed to dev-facing ideas. The reason being we want to make sure that what we ultimately create best caters to the amazing things users will experience — thus influencing the dev-facing ideas.
Adding an idea
To keep things consistent, and to help steer this, we'll use Job Stories as the means of presenting an idea. Here's the structure:
When _______ I want _______ So I can _______
Feel free to add additional details to contextualize the idea, but let's start with this format.
Discussing Ideas
Let's use the threads of the Discussion to ask about and poke at individual ideas, rather than having one thread go really, really long.
