First-time poster here! I’ve been diving into no and low-code web design, focusing on the Block Editor (which I absolutely love). During my work, I’ve noticed a gap that I think could significantly enhance the user experience.
Currently, while reusable blocks and patterns make design work more efficient, I’ve often found myself wishing for a similarly easy way to export templates for reuse across projects or even store them in a persistent library that remains accessible regardless of the active theme.
Here’s what I’m suggesting:
Export Option for Templates - An option to export user-created templates, allowing them to be shared or re-imported into other WordPress installs. This would streamline workflows for designers and developers working across multiple sites.
Persistent Template Library
and/or
A dedicated section in the templates library where user-created templates are stored and remain accessible regardless of the active theme. This would ensure users don’t lose their work when switching themes and could act as a centralized repository for templates, much like reusable blocks.
I believe these features would empower users to fully leverage the flexibility of the Block Editor and further enhance the low-code capabilities WordPress already champions.
Thanks for considering this, and I’d love to hear thoughts or suggestions from the community!
