Custom connector doesn't pass tests when creating new source

I noticed strange behavior with the cloud and self-hosted (abctl) version 2.0 of airbyte. When I create custom connector for an API that uses basic authentication I can pass the test and get the data without problems within the Connector Builder. When I publish it then and use it to create a new source with exact same credentials that works during building tests the source test fails with 403 Forbidden error. Did you experience the same issues? Self-hosted 1.8.1 release didn't have that problem.
