Custom month start and end date

We receive our incomes on the 21st of the month. The same day we automatically book funds to several other bank subaccounts to create budgets for groceries/vehicle/house-maintenance etc. These budgets are available to spend for the upcoming month starting on the 21st (roday) and ending on the 21st of the next month. I would like to match this in the Paisa budget section. Is there any option to change the start & end date of the budgetting UI?

It's not available today, but this seems like a common use case. Let me check the possibility of making the budget start day configurable

It would also be nice if it's possible to show expenses on a custom month date range (as mentioned above). I can imagine two solutions here:

1. Add an extra expenses page with custom date range selector. So i can select 21-01-2024 - 21-02-2024 to show all expenses in our custom month period.
2. If you can find a solution for the budgetting UI regarding custom start / end dates for a month, also use this custom monthly start / end dates for the month view of expenses

I have made the year boundary configurable from the start since each country has its own version of the financial year. But month on the other hand is hard coded everywhere. I think you want to treat the salary period as your definition of a month. One way is to just make month_start_day config and do everything on top of it, not sure if that would cause any issues.

If you know of any software that supports this way of handling month let me know, it would save me a lot of time if I could try out something that already exists.

The month_start_day solutions seems fine to me, if this works for all month selections and filters. In that case there would be no need for a custom date selection in the expenses section. Although thinking about it seems a nice feature to have when you want to measure expenses in any custom period of time (but this can already be done in the sheets and transactions section).
