Seems more suited than SHACL for what we do. However, we probably don't want to hassle people even further ;).

Even though ShEx seems a better fit for our use case, i.e. schema transformation, we are currently sticking with SHACL:

• SHACL is a good choice and we've invested in it already, also outside of Metamorph
• Even though ShEx is actively developend, SHACL is a W3C recommendation, ShEx isn't
• Other standards like NORA seem to suggest SHACL
• Tools for converting ShEx to SHACL sadly are scarce and experimental
• SHACL Compact syntax might be a solution in the future, but it doesn't seem to be actively developed
