beet edit opens up empty YAML file

Hey there,

I'm new to beets and am currently importing my whole music library. There's quite a lot of stuff in there that's not on MusicBrainz and should never be as it's stuff that's not released anywhere. When I try to edit a track or album, my editor (Sublime Text) opens up a blank text file. Shouldn't it be opening a file with the existing metadata?

my config is like this:

directory: /Volumes/Intenso/Music
library: ~/Documents/beets-library
import:
    move: yes     # Use files in place
plugins: export fetchart musicbrainz discogs edit fromfilename web
edit:
    itemfields: track title artist album year
    albumfields: album albumartist label year
