Spindle detection #1

Hi!
Excited to see this new plugin in Open Ephys!
I am a postdoc working on a very similar project: I target sleep SPINDLES, rather than ripples, where after online detection in the LFP, I apply opto inhibition.

I am wondering - can I use this plugin for spindle detection? If I place the detector after an appropriate filter (11-15 Hz, rather than ripple range) - should the detection work?

Also, I was wondering about two possible options that I think should really make the plugin more versatile and useful:

  1. An option for the user to specify a fixed threshold for detection, rather than an std based one. This should be very useful for users wishing to avoid the initial calibration time.
  2. A user option to set the duration of the TTL up time - spindles are usualluly 1 sec long and it would be convenient to produce a TTL of user-defined duration.

Thanks again - I was planning to use a different acquisition system for online spindle detection but if I am able to use this plugin I will be happy to do my experiment with Open Ephys - way more convenient!!
