sync pulsing using mac laptop?

Hello, 
I was looking over the pulse.py code and noticed that module only has port interface options for windows and linux systems. do you have any advice or solutions for running smile and using sync pulsing for Mac laptop? was previously using pyEPL and trying to see if I can switch to smile.
