Display a progress bar on image convert

What is the problem you're trying to solve

currently there's no progress information while converting images. however, converting images is sometimes time consuming, having a progress bar might be helpful for users to better understand it's not being blocked.

Describe the solution you'd like

I am not familiar with the technical feasibility of this, but if it is feasible, I am glad to submit a pr for this.
