Package json latest tag is not getting latest version of Theia packages

I have package.json similar to what is in the Theia core project and Theia blueprint which specifies “latest” tag for the versions:

"@theia/core": "latest",

After running yarn install, the installed version of Theia packages is still 1.43.1 and it is not getting the latest 1.44.0
I have verified latest tag on the npm registry and it is on 1.44.0: https://www.npmjs.com/package/@theia/core?activeTab=versions

I have also tried yarn cache clean but still installed version was 1.43.1

@umar-shabbir thank you for the discussion, your yarn.lock file is likely pinning the dependency to a previous version (you can manually verify the yarn.lock to see if it is the case).

You can perform a yarn upgrade to update your lockfile.
