gatsby v3: 'import' and 'export' may appear only with 'sourceType: module'

i'm getting the WEBPACK error: Generating SSR bundle failed when i'm trying to build the gatsby v3 site in production in one of the dependencies.

'import' and 'export' may appear only with 'sourceType: module' (22:0)

is there any way to fix this issue using gatsby-node.js using exports.onCreateWebpackConfig settings?
