Wish I'd found this comment sooner. Paid for FabForm; changes made in the settings don't persist; contacted support - no reply. Avoid. |

Hi, and thanks a lot for the project! ❤️
I wanted to provide some feedback regarding the FabForm integration for simple contact forms in Docsy.
TL;DR: Limited features for the free plan, broken features for the paid plan, no reply from seller.
I followed the instructions at https://www.docsy.dev/docs/adding-content/feedback/#add-a-contact-form-with-fabform (and on the provided link) to set up a simple contact form using FabForm as a backend.
The simple form, based on FabForm's free plan, works well. However, it does not come with email notifications when users of the website submit a new message via the form. To get email notifications, and to enjoy some other features, one must subscribe to a “Professional Usage” lifetime plan (see https://fabform.io/pricing/). I subscribed, because I can't imagine monitoring the form interface on a regular basis, and I really need notifications for new messages posted via the contact form.
After I subscribed to the paid plan, my account was upgraded. I tried to set up various parameters for my form, including the “custom thank-you page”, the “custom redirects”, and of course, the email notifications. But none of these worked; when I hit the “save changes” button on the configuration interface, parameters are neither saved nor applied to the form. Leaving and coming back to the configuration page shows the default parameters again. So I'm stuck without notifications, making the form unusable in my case. (I do have access to some of the paid features, such as the ability to create multiple forms, but this is not what I'm after).
I tried to reach out to the seller, first via the contact form on fabform.io, then by email at the address I found in the terms and conditions on the website. After one month (and four attempts), I've got no reply. I ended up switching to another web form backend provider (I found several alternatives with a simple web search).
So, maybe it's just me and FabForm works for other people, which would be a good thing. But I thought I'd report about my experience, so that people could find it and comment if they faced the same issues; and if this turns out to be a recurring issue, it might be worth reconsidering whether Docsy's docs should highlight this particular web form provider, or find a different one.
