Is there a valid way to conditionally pass inputs based on if a dependency exists or not?

Hi! I am new to terragrunt and trying to create an _envccommon/example.hcl to include in a tenant/example/terragrunt.hcl like:

include "envcommon" {
  path = "${dirname(find_in_parent_folders("root.hcl"))}/_envcommon/example.hcl"
  expose = true
}

_envccommon/example.hcl

dependency "foo" {
  config_path = "${dirname(find_in_parent_folders("tenant.hcl"))}/foo"
  enabled = local.enable_foo_module_dependancy
}

locals {
  enable_foo_module_dependancy = fileexists("${dirname(find_in_parent_folders("tenant.hcl"))}/foo/terragrunt.hcl")
}

inputs = local.enable_foo_module_dependancy ? {
  example_output1   = dependency.foo.outputs.example_output1
  example_output2   = dependency.foo.outputs.example_output2
} : {
}

my goal is to just make the _envccommon/example.hcl more flexible and I don't want to pass nulls like

 local.enable_foo_module_dependancy ? {
  example_output1   = dependency.foo.outputs.example_output1
  example_output2   = dependency.foo.outputs.example_output2
} : {
  example_output1   = null
  example_output2   = null
}

sorry if this seems a bit hacky 😅
