Unable to use advanced search with filename

Hello,

I'm trying to search file using advanced search bar but seems that it doesn't work.

I'm looking for all file with "+1" and I have no result. I tried with a filename I know... same, no result.
Other .mov or IMG_, still no result.

Could someone help?

Do you have any successful searches? Or is it failing to return anything for every search you do?

In my case it finds a file named test+1.jpg by +1

Also works:

• jpg
• .jpg
• IMG_

But not wildcards: *.jpg does not work.

I have no result when I type +1, or *+1.heic, or *+1.

I can see that some search send me lots of file or context out of the topic.

How could I trouble shoot. my *+1.jpeg file have been generated by immich as duplicate, I have +2 file too, maybe they are not known by the search engine.

For wildcards you should use %, not *.

What is returned when you search for the "base" part of the file name such as IMG_3877 - without the suffix or extension?

It seems I reproduced this behavior:

• Upload a file named image.jpg
• Upload another different file named image.jpg too
• Now I get 2 search results for image.jpg
• I get 0 results for image+1.jpg or +1

Interpretation (from the Immich server perspective):

• On disk there are two files image.jpg and image+1.jpg
• In the database there are 2 asset records
  • they both have originalFileName: image.jpg
  • they have different originalPath (filesystem) - /some/path/image.jpg and /some/path/image+1.jpg
• Search works with originalFileName - see the address bar in a browser or in my screenshot above

Note: in my yesterday's comment I uploaded a file which was originally named test+1.jpg. Therefore search for +1 or test+1.jpg was successful in that case.
