Python b"0x00" results in Java byte[]{0x78,0x30,0x30} on parameter passing

Possibly, I missed something, but passing Python bytes to a Java Byte[] function results in some header garbage.

JAVA:

package com.test;
public class BytesTestClass {
    public static void printBytes(byte[] bytes) {
        for (int i = 0; i < bytes.length; i++)
            System.out.printf("0x%02x ", bytes[i]);
        System.out.println();
    }
}

Python:

import jpype
import jpype.imports
from jpype.types import *
 
# launch the JVM
jpype.startJVM(classpath=["./classes"])
from com.test import BytesTestClass
BytesTestClass.printBytes(b"x00")

Results:

0x78 0x30 0x30

Should be:

0x00

After some more testing, I figured out, the problem can be solved by calling bytes() function before passing the parameter.

Use:

BytesTestClass.printBytes(bytes(b"\x00"))
