treatment of TBBROOT

Hello,

What is the expected layout of TBBROOT. Suppose I installed in

/opt/tbb_install
    include/
    lib/

then $TBBROOT=/opt/tbb_install is what should be used. Is this correct?

I'm trying to debug this locally, but the brew installed TBB is always getting found over the custom one regardless of what TBBROOT actually is.

The libraries are expected to be in lib/intel64/gcc4.4. More recent versions also use lib/intel64/gcc4.7, though I have not yet updated the module for that case. You many need to manually specify lib and include directory with cmake variables. TBB_ROOT_DIR, TBB_INCLUDE_DIR, or TBB_LIBRARY. See the readme file in this repo for more details.

I see, thank you for the response. I'm not sure this is correct though, I believe the above paths are how it would come installed with the Intel compilers. If you compile / install directly from the TBB repo using CMake, on linux and OSX they'll just install underneath CMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX/lib. I noticed the TODO here, is this something you would be interested on working out a patch on?

I don't have access to an installation of the intel compilers right now, but I'd be willing to bet their environment setup script is where the intel{arch}/compiler stuff came from? I would like to help patch this so that just TBBROOT can be set by the user, I help contribute to spack and want to fix the module generation for the TBB package. Being able to just set TBBROOT and have it work both for intel compiler installations, as well as custom installations built via CMake would be my goal.

What are your thoughts? Am I misunderstanding something with how the search paths are working?
