Plans for publishing Rust crate to crates.io?

Hi! I'm building a code indexing tool in Rust and came across lance-graph.

I noticed the core is written in Rust with Python bindings. Are there any plans to publish the Rust crate to crates.io?

Context

The combination of:

• Cypher query support
• LanceDB integration
• Rust-native implementation

...makes it very appealing for my use case.

Questions

1. Timeline: Any plans to publish to crates.io? Rough timeline?
2. API stability: Is the Rust API stable enough for external use?
3. Documentation: Any Rust-specific docs beyond the Python examples?
4. Contributing: If you need help with crate publishing, CI setup, or documentation, I'd be happy to contribute.

Hi @youssef-tharwat, thanks for your interest!

It's definitely a valid point to offer a stable Rust package.

However, our current top priority is stabilizing and publishing the Python package. This is because the underlying Rust APIs are still undergoing active and significant development. We anticipate that this development may result in breaking changes to the Rust APIs over the next month. At this moment, I cannot guarantee API stability for Rust users just yet.

I agree that it's a reasonable goal to publish a Rust crate, even if it's not the immediate top priority.

@beinan Any thoughts on your side? Maybe we can consider publishing a Rust crate after stabilizing the APIs (and probably after publishing the Python package)?
