investigate if underlying Swing can be replaced with bearlyb

From mostly a cursory glance at the code I would hazard a guess that it is pretty close, the main issue I see is that every lab and mention of introprog in compendium would have to be scrutinized and Ta's guidelines updated.

I would also like to mention that Vec is a bit confusing (making heavy use of generics and contextual params etc so errors are weird to read)(also missing some stuff) and there is no system for files nor any prompts from what I can gauge.

It is really promising and will be a good replacement but some things need to be ironed out first.

I am open for corrections if I am wrong! :)

I'm thinking of keeping the introprog library with a similar api but some parts delegating under the hood to bearlyb, so no nned to expose bearlyb Vec I guess. And files can be either scala.io or java.io or java.nio or perhaps evenen better os-lib. But the surface api could be the same or similar as introprog today. What do you think about that?

Bearlyb does not do any file management as i think that is covered in a fantastic way bh os-lib (which is actually a dependency of bearlyb). I think wrapping bearlyb is a great idea, but as of now there is risk that the api might change and there are probably bugs. There is also almost no support for rendering text except for debugging purposes.
