Add credit card limit

Now, we are able to see only credit card debt in the credit card accounts
I believe it would be a great feature to add limit or credit limit field in the credit card account and display balance for credit card like current balance/available credit or $700/$300 instead of just current balance and $700 how it is now.

In the typical use case I have in mind, users open ezBookkeeping to record a transaction after it has taken place. Since the transaction has already occurred, the credit card limit usually isn’t relevant. If you have a real-world use case which beeds thia feature, please provide it in this issue.

I meant that credit limit is needed to see how much credit is available. For example, I have a credit card with $1000 limit. I make a purchase for $150. Ezbookkeeping will show me just $150 of balance. But I would like to see $850 of available assets. Now there's no way to see this information.

What I'm saying is, what's the point of showing this number? Will you make other decisions based on this number, or is it just to show a number?

Point is the same as showing balance. I think it should be convenient to see how much assets you are able to spend instead of counting it in the head after each transaction.

Before making a payment, will you open ezBookkeeping every time to check how much credit limit is left on each of your credit cards, and then decide which one to use, or whether to proceed with the payment at all?

Not every time of course. However I check credit limits pretty often when I have hard times and my credit cards are about to be exhausted. Usually I check my credit limits at least once a week when I compare my accounts with ezbookkeeping. Also I check it when I plan a large expense. When I’m doing repayments I check credit limits as well. Best regards, Vladimir

What I mean is, I think the typical way users use ezBookkeeping is: they make a transaction in real world → record it in ezBookkeeping → analyze historical transactions in ezBookkeeping.

You mentioned two potential use cases:

1. Checking whether the balance in ezBookkeeping matches the real account balance. I think most banking apps show both the credit limit and the outstanding balance, and the latter shows in ezBookkeeping. So if the goal is to compare balances, the current design should be enough.
2. Planning whether to make a new purchase. In this case, I think it's more appropriate to open the banking app rather than ezBookkeeping. Banking apps not only show your available credit, but also offer features like temporary credit limit increases and installment payment options. I don’t know why someone would choose to open ezBookkeeping instead.

I prefer to open ezBookkeeping because I have 4 credit cards from different banks. It’s really simpler and faster to check them all in one place.

In the US many people have tens of credit cards :)

Comparing the credit limits of multiple credit cards in ezBookkeeping is a reasonable feature request. However, there is no suitable place to display the credit limit in the ezBookkeeping interface (it is strange to display the credit limit and the outstanding balance at the same time, or to replace the outstanding balance with the credit limit).

If you have any good suggestions, please continue to provide them in the issue.

It may be suitable to be displayed on the Account List page. Displaying the outstanding balance with the available limit (not the credit limit) is not strange at all; it's common to see them together.
