how to rename key in a map (or hash)

Hello,
With yq version 4.11.1, please help to check how to rename a key users.name to users.username

users:
  - name: firstname.lastname1
    firstname: firstname1
    lastname: lastname1
  - name: firstname.lastname2
    firstname: firstname2
    lastname: lastname2

Expected result:

users:
  - username: firstname.lastname1
    firstname: firstname1
    lastname: lastname1
  - username: firstname.lastname2
    firstname: firstname2
    lastname: lastname2

I tried with these as search on #741 but it doesn't work

yq e ".users.username = .users.name | del(.users.name)" users.yml
Error: Cannot index array with 'username' (strconv.ParseInt: parsing "username": invalid syntax)

Your example is a little more complex than that, as you have an array of maps as opposed to a single one. There's also a new with_entries operator that wasn't around for #741.

yq e '.users.[] |= with_entries( (select(.key=="name") | .key) ="username")'  file.yml

Explanation:

• we want to update each map in the array, relative to itself, so we do .users[] |=
• Use with_entries, this will turn the map into an array of {key, value} pairs. We select the key,value pair we want to update, and set it's new key value.
