Description
In iMITS the notion of the Distribution Centres controls the availability and the order details displayed on the IMPC portal.
Distribution Centres exist for all end points in iMITS that produce mutant mouse lines (Mi Attempts & Mouse Allele Modifications/Phenotype Attempts). Centers should manage the distribution centres to indicate where the lines are available from and whether they are still available.
Current Logic:
-
When a mouse line is indicated as GLT a default distribution centre will be created indicating the line is available from the production centre.
-
The centre should edit this record when they ship the line to the repository by indicating the repository the line was sent to. This may involve changing the distribution centre (i.e. for KOMP Repo) or selecting the distribution network (i.e. EMMA).
-
If a line stops being available then you should NOT delete the Distribution centre (because a default distribution centre will be created). Instead you should enter a distribution date. Filling in the distribution 'End date' will indicate that the line was no longer available after this date. The distribution 'Start date' indicates that the line was not available before this date allowing you to add a delay, useful when there is a delay between shipping your line to a repository and it becoming available at that repository.
