A clock as a skin element in gameplay

The title pretty much speaks for itself.
Think of something like Steam Overlay's ability to put a clock to constantly display on the game screen.
For those who wish to keep track of real life time even during gameplay because they live on a schedule or something.

It would not necessarily be displaying seconds (or total game runtime for that matter) like the toolbar clock does. My idea for such element would be a simple text based digital clock in a plain simple H:M format (eg. 17:24 or 5:24 PM). In general, it should be intuitive and not too distracting.

This is my concept with my current skin layout - look on the top left corner. It would look just as simple as a text element. One (or at least, one used to 24-hour time in this example) would be able to peek at the clock from time to time during gameplay to immediately get the current time.
Ideally, of course, this clock should respect the "Prefer 24-hour time display" setting.
