How to change friendly name of arming status

I am a newbie to Home Assistant and love the alarmdotcom module. I tried to go into the file editor to update the names like disarmed to System Disarmed but even after restarting home assistant nothing changes. Is there a way to change the friendly names seen on the overview and eventually passed over to Apple HomeKit? I want to reflect the same naming that our Alarm Panel currently shows and that we are use to.
