Typed Rhombus status?

Probably getting ahead of things here but browsing the Rhombus docs I can see the design definitely tries to accommodate some sort of typing in the future through the annotation system (although the system could probably be used for other things too). Since we have Rhombus and Typed Racket, what are the obstacles to Typed Rhombus, assuming I can't get static type checking already? The only mention of "Typed Rhombus" I can find is from 4 years ago and only to mention it as a hypothetical future.
