SE out of memory when processing large quantities of files

I tried to run 8000 DFT files through it to convert to them to DWG's. It was working great, but ran out of memory about an hour in to an estimated 14 hour job.

I ended up vibe coding something that got the job done and could automatically restart Solid Edge every 15 files to keep the memory consumption down.

I just tried it with 4514 files and it finished in 1.7 hr. Didn't run out of RAM, but I have 64GB, so that could be a factor.

You got it to work, so that's the big deal. If you want to help troubleshoot, it would be interesting to see the output from SESysInfo.exe. It is located in the SE Install directory, Program folder. You can email it if you prefer.

If I don't hear back in a few days, I'll close with a Could not replicate tag. If others report similar findings, I can always reopen.

OK, that's a nice machine. It shouldn't be the issue.

I'm still on SE2025. Once I upgrade (don't know when), I can give it another test. It's possible I have a memory leak that somehow got exposed with the latest version.

I had to run my own conversion twice because I forgot to set the INI to include the title blocks. On the second go around, I set it to restart SE every 200 files, and it seemed to work just fine.

I dont know if I made it clear - SE is what runs out of memory, not your app. Your app just needs to monitor SE's memory usage and reset it as necessary.

Oh. That helps. I actually used to have that functionality in the program. It was because of dropped Remote Server connections. I have another way of dealing with those now, so removed the functionality.
