If you are interested in contributing to SciPy Central and looking for ideas, this page might help you

  • Custom Search: Improving existing search engine, add custom search features to it

  • Spam filtering: Developing smart and efficient spam filtering methods for comment system

  • Notifications: Creating notifications (new comments), allow people to follow tags or comments

  • Openid: Openid registration support

  • User activity: Generating user activity (public), along with Feeds

  • Update submissions: Load submissions on the site dynamically.

  • Design: Improve existing design interface

  • Moderation: Extending moderation system (for flags, comments, reputation, etc)

  • CMS: Extending the current site to more like a CMS! Although we don't really need many features that CMS usually offer but, the plugin-based, dynamic layout for site looks more interesting! (just an idea - probably need some discussion too) @suryak
