Singular SDK is not compatible with upcoming unity IAP package version 5

Hi,
I just tested to upgrade the Unity in app purchase package to the next one 5.0.0-pre.5 as it should be released soon, but once imported, I got a lot of errors from the Singular SDK.
As it should be released soon, it would be great that you add support for it.

Please look into this issue — we're also unable to use com.unity.purchasing 5.0.0-pre.7 because of it.

Urgent: We just received a deprecation notice from Google Play

They notified that apps using a Billing Library version lower than v7.0 will be rejected starting August 31 (in less than two months).

Fixing this issue is critical — without the latest com.unity.purchasing package, we won’t be able to update our games.

This issue seems to be stale. I suggest that everyone affected by it contact the Singular support team to help push for a fix.

Their v5.0.0 IAP package has been marked as pre-release since July 2024 (11 months ago), so it’s unlikely they’ll make it production-ready in the next few weeks.
It’s better to have the option to use a pre-release package than not be able to update the product at all.

For example, if there’s a critical bug we need to fix, not being able to update the game would be crazy.

to be able t use iap v5 with singular, without using auto logging of purchases from singular, you can modify the Runtime/SingularSDK.asmdef file to:

this will remove the define SINGULAR_SDK_IAP_ENABLED for iap version greater than 4.50

thanks for reporting all the details and for your patience while we work to prepare for this IAP lib overhaul.
we've published a workaround here: https://github.com/singular-labs/Singular-Unity-SDK/tree/5.4.1-preview.1 - it should allow you to test Unity's IAP lib of versions 5.x.x - please let us know your experience with it. please note that the latest public stable release doesn't contain this workaround.

the Singular SDK is agnostic to the Google Play billing library version and doesn't import it directly.
additionally, as @dinhtai1104 mentioned, seems like Unity have lately released a stable IAP library that depends on the billing library version 7.1.1 - which reportedly solves the issue kindly mentioned by @Davidnovarro

Unity has officially released version 5.0.0 of the IAP package now and it contains billing 8.0.0. We can't use this until Singular updates to support it.

we are currently working on supporting the overhauled IAP library from Unity, and we expect to release it within the next few weeks.

in the meantime, we recommend using Unity IAP library version 4.13 - as it is aligns with Google's deadline for end of August 2025. of course, feel free to contact our support at support@singular.net if you have any issues with integrating the Unity SDK.
