Please consider switching to use dn42notifyd, https://git.dn42.dev/burble/dn42notifyd

You can poll dn42notifyd to fetch the current commit hash, which can be compared against your local registry copy.
If the commits don't match then proceed with a normal git pull (or git fetch and reset --hard) to update your local copy.
