When I add a new HTTP proxy in Zoraxy, I need to manually configure certain headers (e.g., X-Forwarded-For, X-Real-IP, or other custom headers) every time. This is repetitive and can lead to inconsistencies between different proxy sites. I would like a way to define default headers that are automatically applied when creating new proxies.

Describe the solution you'd like

I’d like to have a setting in Zoraxy where I can define a set of default headers once. When I create a new HTTP proxy, these headers would automatically be added. Ideally, it should still be possible to override or adjust them on a per-proxy basis afterwards.

Describe alternatives you've considered

• Manually configuring the same headers for every new proxy (time-consuming and error-prone).
• Using an external reverse proxy or middleware to inject headers (but this reduces the simplicity and convenience of Zoraxy).

Additional context
This feature would make managing multiple proxies much more efficient and reduce the risk of configuration mistakes. It would especially benefit setups where new proxy sites are added frequently.

Ok, that sounds do-able, but can you tell me more about your use cases? Like in what situations where multiple proxy rules will require same sets of headers instead of other proper way of setting up the upstreams?

Sometime user ask for a feature because they don't know the proper way to do it, I am just asking to make sure that the design / flow is not confusing or misleading to beginners.

Hi @tobychui, I am setting headers (both ways) like X-Proxy-By and X-Forwarded-For.

@evdbovenkamp Those two are automatically populated. While the X-Proxy-By will be removed in the coming release (unless you run it with -dev=true flag), you mind tell me more on what's wrong with the X-Forwarded-For header?
