Description
We received thoughtful input from a survey participant representing the academic sector, offering valuable suggestions to improve next year’s edition:
- Throughout the survey, it was unclear whether “my organization” referred to the entire university system (comprising multiple campuses) or just a single campus
- There was also ambiguity around whether “policies” referred to those governing academic researchers or non-research staff. The respondent noted that universities often take different approaches to open source contributions depending on the role (e.g researchers VS IT staff)
- In question 8, the respondent felt a “never” option was missing, which would have allowed them to indicate the absence of a formal policy
