I want to start off by saying thank you for the continuous hardwork in all the "-Fox" files along with your explanations. I really appreciate the conciseness explanations and additional cited sources for us to look things up.
I tried to look on this repo with keywords 'Zen' and 'BetterZen' along with the Wiki, but I couldn't really find an answer. Apologies if this was discussed elsewhere or if my questions sounds stupid.
For context:
I have been using Firefox with BetterFox for awhile now. Usually I cross-reference to the other "-Fox" js files to see what things I want to modify or change in overrides. I switched to Zen browser recently (this is awesome btw).
While I was getting ready to "transplant" my BetterFox user.js file from Firefox, I wanted to see if there are some zen-specific tweaks that I needed to adjust in the user.js files. I can't help but to notice it is much shorter and some of the values for prefs (especially in the Fastfox section) is drastically different (e.g. the gfx.canvas.accelerated.cache-size)
My questions:
Are these like the recommended parameters for Zen? Is there any reasoning for this? Or maybe why so many preferences are excluded when we compare it to the BetterFox user.js version?
I have been using the BetterFox version but I "transplanted" all the new unique things from the BetterZen version. Is this ok?
Lastly, a question on user.js files in general:
I know that zen browser has it's own config prefs (some start with 'zen', etc.). If I append them to the end of the BetterFox user.js file here but in the future, if I forget to make them inactive or delete them...
What happens if I put it in another browser like... librewolf ? Would the user.js file still work? Or would the browser break, or ignore the user.js file completely?
Sorry for this lengthy post. Thank you in advance to anyone that can shed some insights.
