emacs has this bound to C-h k, and it captures the next keybinding, instead printing the name of the command it is bound to, as well as the nature of its binding (major/minor mode, is global, etc)

There is now a "Search by keystroke" feature in the keybinding editor.

ctrl-k ctrl-s to open the keybinding editor
ctr-alt-f to get into the keystroke mode thingy
