If you have used Derius for a bit you will quickly find out that functionality is spread out to many different plugins. THIS DOES NOT REDUCE PERFORMANCE, BUT CAN ACTUALLY IMPROVE IT BECAUSE UNWANTED FEATURES IS COMPLETELY DISABLED

But why?

  • Our initial goal was to make Derius as flexible as possible, and if we could spread functionality to other plugins (meaning third-party extensions is also possible) we had reached that goal.
  • People who don't want certain features (or want to use their own in-house ones) can easily disable them.
  • Furthermore when a feature is moved to its own plugin we usually give it some more attention and it will be improved upon even more, so the end product will be even better.
  • (techy) This will also make our code cleaner.
