I'm currently learning Python and Git, and I'm starting to move into open-source development.
Right now my main focus is understanding scientific Python tools and contributing to projects in the HEP/HSF ecosystem.
- Getting comfortable with Git and GitHub
- Building small Python projects to improve my fundamentals
- Preparing my first contribution to the Scikit-HEP project (uproot/awkward/etc.)
- Make regular contributions to open-source projects
- Learn the workflow used by real scientific software teams
- Improve my understanding of data analysis and ML
- Python + scientific computing
- Machine learning
- High-energy physics software
- Open-source culture
