X16 Hardware

The X16 can use a 65C02 or a 65C816 processor. (It cannot use an original MOS 6502, as seen on the PET, VIC-20, or BBC Micro.)
The 65C02 is an upgraded version of the 6502, which includes some new opcodes. These add new address modes and some bit-oriented instructions.
The 65C816 is an upgrade from the 6502 and 65C02, which includes 16-bit registers, new instructions, and new address modes for existing instructions.
