Could you bring back the BEGINERELEASENOTES and ENDRELEASENOTES tags? We use them for automated release notes generation. Everything between those tags will appear in the release notes, everything outside of them will not.
Re, the license: For Key4hep we usually use Apache 2. I will open a PR that adds that. IIRC github then picks it up somewhat automatically for a badge.

We could also use the physics benchmark paper here, but that might need some discussion with the others.
