- AI-powered web application designed to help university students minimise food waste and save money through intelligent recipe recommendations and smart food management. Built with Django and featuring a fine-tuned PyTorch InceptionV3 model for ingredient recognition from uploaded images, the app provides personalised recipe suggestions via Edamam's Recipe Search API whilst tracking expiry dates and calculating environmental impact ratings. User research validated strong student interest (>70%) in the app's core features, demonstrating its potential to promote sustainable and budget-friendly cooking habits amongst students.

Built with Java, it integrates Apache Lucene for efficient search, Microsoft Azure AI Text Analytics for text summarisation, and OpenAI's GPT-3.5 Turbo for nuanced responses. The application features an intuitive Java Swing interface that delivers tailored recommendations to help students, especially those with learning difficulties, navigate support resources more effectively.
