Getting Started

Welcome to Smart! This guide will get you up and running in minutes.
- Satisfactory 1.1 or later
- Satisfactory Mod Manager (SMM)
- Download Satisfactory Mod Manager from ficsit.app
- Search for "Smart!" in the mod browser
- Click Install and wait for download
- Launch Satisfactory through SMM
That's it! Smart! is now active.

Let's build a 4x4 foundation grid to see Smart! in action.
Open your build menu and select any foundation type.
With the foundation hologram active:
- Press NumPad 8 three times → X count becomes 4
- Press NumPad 6 three times → Y count becomes 4
You now have a 4x4 grid preview!

Click to place all 16 foundations at once. Smart! handles the rest.
When Smart! is active, you'll see a styled HUD panel showing your current settings:

HUD Elements:
- Header — "SMART!" in orange

Grid —
Grid: 4x4x1 (16)with color-coded axes (X=Red, Y=Green, Z=Blue) - Recipe — Icon + name + input/output rates (when selected)
- Settings — Auto-connect settings (when adjusting distributors)

Spacing —
Spacing [X]: 2.0m(per axis) -
Steps —
Steps [X]: 1.0m columns(vertical rise) -
Stagger —
Stagger [Y]: 0.5m forward(diagonal offset) -
Rotation —
Rotation [Z]: 15.0° (R=12.5m, 24/circle)(angle, radius, buildings per circle)
Active Mode Indicator: When holding a modifier key, the active setting shows an asterisk (*) and highlights in yellow.
Smart! uses native Satisfactory keybinds. To customize:
- Open Options menu
- Go to Keybindings
- Find Smart! Scaling Controls
- Rebind any key to your preference

For persistent configuration (HUD visibility, auto-connect defaults, control mode):
- Open Options menu
- Go to Mods tab
- Select Smart! Foundations

Hold a modifier key and scroll to adjust values:
- X (hold) + Scroll → Adjust X count
- Z (hold) + Scroll → Adjust Y count
- X+Z (hold) + Scroll → Adjust Z count
Use NumPad keys for precise control:
- NumPad 8/5 → Increase/Decrease X
- NumPad 6/4 → Increase/Decrease Y
- NumPad 9/3 → Increase/Decrease Z
Press K to open the visual settings panel. Adjust everything with mouse clicks — no memorization required!
