Smart! has two types of settings: Mod Settings (persistent, accessed via game menu) and Smart! Panel (in-game, contextual). This page covers the Mod Settings.
- Open the game menu (Escape)
- Go to Options
- Select Mods tab
- Click Smart! Foundations
Settings are saved automatically and persist across sessions.

- Off (Hologram-Relative) — X/Y/Z axes are relative to the hologram's orientation
- On (Player-Relative) — Controls are relative to your camera direction (Left/Right/Forward/Back)

- Always — Apply auto-connect every time you place
- Once — Apply only on first placement, then manual
- Never — Disable auto-connect (manual connections only)
- Auto — Use highest unlocked tier
- Mk.1 - Mk.6 — Force specific belt tier

Note: Flow Indicator option only appears after unlocking clean pipes (Mk.2).

- Auto — Smart detection based on grid shape
- X Only — Connect along X axis only
- Y Only — Connect along Y axis only
- X + Y — Connect along both axes
Each power pole tier has a maximum connection limit:

Note: Wall Power Poles are not yet supported by Power Auto-Connect.
